Hi guys! Bonita is a relatively new brand to me. The first time I ran into it was at Rite Aid, I think they started carrying it sometime this spring. Around summer K-Mart also started to carry it, and it has become really popular amongst us bargain shoppers. The reason is that they retail for $2.49 but the quality of their formulas and previous collection shades have been outstanding (you can see the two shades I previously shared here), I really like them!
Today I have four of the eight shades that make up the Colorful Palette, The Artist Collection. Let's go have a look!

This next shade is the star of the show in my eyes, and it's called Starry Night. This shade is a deep teal base with some lighter teal flecks and scattered holo glitter, I am wearing two coats plus topcoat.

The last shade I have for you today is Rembrandt's Muse, a deep cranberry shimmer with glass flecks. You are looking at two coats, plus topcoat.

I am very impressed by Bonita, these first four shades were absolute wins! The formula was pretty consistent: a little bit thick but very workable. They all dried to a satin-y finish, I am not sure if they were meant to be satins (it was very weak) or just not a very shiny finish. I used topcoat because I really like all the things shiny. The two neutrals were not as shimmery as the darker ones (perhaps because the base is so pigmented) but still very pretty shades. I am definitely going back to pick up the other four colors, which are more along the lines of pastels, a little more summery.
And here is the double-whammy deal going on right now at Rite-Aid: in addition to the Spend $5 get $2 back on Bonita purchases, there is an extra 25% off on Halloween themed items, so you can get the entire Witches Ball collection for $11.25 and still get $4 back! This is what that display looks like:

DeleteOkay...can I say that I love the names of these?? Seriously. Though the Dutch School style was never my favorite, I have to say Rembrandt's Muse is. :P And oh boy...I may have to go back to Rite Aid and pick up Wicked Good Time!
ReplyDeleteYou sure can, and I agree! Rembrandt's Muse is totally you!
DeleteDid you get these at Rite Aid or K-Mart? I LOVE these so wondering if I need to make the trek out to K-Mart...
ReplyDeleteI bought these at Rite Aid, I haven't seen this particular collection at K-Mart yet. Sorry for the confusion!
DeleteThanks for the update! I'm actually thrilled because Rite Aid is much more convenient, lol.
DeleteGlad to help, thank you for stopping by Sarah! <3
Deletethese look fabulous on you, per usual! great picks Yadi! I noticed you stayed away from the light pinks :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Phoebe! <3 Hahaha I think you are onto something here girl, I am loving all these fall shades!
DeleteI bought Starry Night and Monet's whatever (can't remember)...and I can't wait to try them! Thanks for the swatches. I couldn't find a single swatch online when I bought these.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure Nola, welcome! Glad you found these helpful, I went back and bought the other four, will be swatching them soon!
DeleteI got Starry Night recently and put it on yesterday. OMG. Love! And I love that I could have gotten away with just one coat since it's quite opaque. I've been buying mostly OPI and Essie these past few years. But I'm really like this Bonita brand a lot too. And you can't beat the price. :)
